Nevada gaming win rises 3.14% in August 2026 as Strip growth stalls
Nevada casinos won US$1.27 billion in August 2026, up 3.14% year on year, while the Las Vegas Strip gained only 0.70%.

Nevada's nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a statewide gaming win of US$1,266,105,114 for August 2026, up 3.14% from US$1,227,573,173 in August 2025, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The figures were released around 30 September 2026.
Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, won US$1,062,187,208, up 2.80%. The Las Vegas Strip itself won US$684,087,062, up only 0.70% year on year, so growth on the Strip lagged the state as a whole.
Several other areas moved by larger percentages:
- Boulder Strip: US$83.2 million, up 17.38%
- Downtown Las Vegas: US$61.5 million, down 2.96%
- Laughlin: US$39.9 million, up 9.92%
- Washoe County: US$108.4 million, up 10.44%, of which Reno was US$79.4 million, up 15.69%
- South Lake Tahoe: US$26.3 million, down 1.95%
Gaming win for the fiscal year to date, covering 1 July to 31 August 2026, is up 2.58%.
The figures were reported by Fox5 Vegas, the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Gambling.com, based on the Board's monthly release.
In dollar terms, the statewide figure was about US$38.5 million higher than in August 2025. Clark County accounted for roughly 84% of the statewide win and the Las Vegas Strip for roughly 54%, so the Strip's slow 0.70% gain weighed on the overall growth rate.
Among the areas listed, the Boulder Strip posted the largest percentage gain at 17.38%, followed by Reno at 15.69%. Downtown Las Vegas and South Lake Tahoe were the two areas that declined.
In context: gaming win is the amount casinos keep after paying out winnings. The August numbers show growth across most of the state, with the Strip the slowest of the large markets and several smaller markets growing faster.
