Macau casino revenue reaches MOP247.4 billion in 2025, up 9.1%
Macau's gross gaming revenue for 2025 was the highest annual total since before the pandemic, according to the territory's gaming regulator.

Macau's casinos generated gross gaming revenue (GGR) of MOP247.4 billion, about US$30.9 billion, in full-year 2025, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ). The total was up 9.1% on 2024 and was the highest annual figure since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gross gaming revenue is the amount casinos keep from players after winnings are paid out; it is not the same as the total amount wagered. Even after the year-on-year gain, the 2025 result equals roughly 84.7% of the 2019 pre-pandemic level, as reported by Yogonet. In other words, the territory has recovered a large part of its earlier scale but has not returned to its peak.
The year ended on a quieter note. December 2025 GGR was MOP20.89 billion, a month that Global Gaming Insider and AsGam described as subdued.
The figures also feed into public finances. Macau government gaming tax revenue for 2025 was about US$11.8 billion, up 7.6%, according to AsGam (12 March 2026) and GGRAsia.
Looking ahead, the Macau government's full-year 2026 budget assumption is MOP236 billion, which works out to an average of about MOP19.66 billion per month. That figure sits below the 2025 total of MOP247.4 billion, so the budget is built on a somewhat lower revenue base than the year just completed.
Put differently, the 2026 budget assumption is MOP11.4 billion below 2025's total. The monthly average of about MOP19.66 billion it implies compares with December 2025's MOP20.89 billion.
In context: the 2025 numbers describe a market that is growing again but is still smaller than it was before 2020, with the government planning conservatively for the year that followed.
