Nevada casinos post a record US$15.8 billion gaming win for 2025

Nevada's 2025 gaming win rose 1.2% to a record, even though Las Vegas visitor numbers fell 7.5%, according to state and tourism figures.

Nevada's nonrestricted gaming licensees won about US$15.8 billion in calendar 2025, up 1.2% on 2024 and the highest annual total on record, according to Nevada Gaming Control Board figures released on 28 January 2026 and reported by Casino.org, GGB Magazine and CDC Gaming.

Gaming win is the amount casinos keep after paying out winnings, not the amount customers wagered. The December 2025 statewide win fell 1.6% year on year, but it was still the 58th consecutive month above US$1 billion.

The Las Vegas Strip finished 2025 roughly flat at about US$8.8 billion. Sources differ on the exact change, so it is best described as roughly flat. Nevada sportsbook win in December 2025 was US$67.6 million, up 351.9% on a very weak December 2024.

The record came in a year when tourism softened. Las Vegas welcomed about 38.5 million visitors in 2025, down 7.5% from 2024, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). It was the first annual decline since the pandemic recovery.

The new year began more slowly. January 2026 statewide gaming win was US$1,345,164,920, down 6.55% year on year, according to a Nevada Gaming Control Board release reported by Fox5 Vegas on 27 February 2026.

The Strip's roughly US$8.8 billion represents more than half of the statewide US$15.8 billion, so the Strip's flat result sits within a statewide record. December's 1.6% decline did not break the run of months above US$1 billion.

In context: the record gaming win and the 7.5% fall in visitors point in opposite directions, a reminder that win and visitation do not always move together.
