Wynn sets September 2027 opening for UAE's first casino resort

Wynn Resorts said on 5 August 2026 that Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, will open in September 2027. That is later than the earlier target of Spring 2027. The announcement came with the company's second-quarter 2026 results, as reported by Yahoo Finance, the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Arabian Business.

The project budget rose by US$600 million to US$5.8 billion. Wynn attributed about half of the increase to regional conflict disrupting shipping, logistics and construction costs.

According to the Wynn Resorts newsroom, the resort will have about 1,530 rooms and suites and 22 restaurants, lounges and bars. It will also have a theatre, a beach club, a marina and a spa. Construction reached topping out in December 2025.

It will be the UAE's first licensed casino resort. Wynn received the UAE's first commercial gaming operator licence in October 2024.

The US$600 million increase takes the budget from about US$5.2 billion to US$5.8 billion, and the opening date has moved from Spring 2027 to September 2027, a shift of several months. The results announcement of 5 August 2026 was the occasion for both the date change and the budget revision.

Topping out is the construction milestone at which a building's structure reaches its full height; fitting out and completion work follows.
